Throughout the journey, you will cross stunning natural scenery within the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve. The experience becomes especially meaningful upon arriving in Achoma, where a host family opens the doors of their home and welcomes you to take part in daily activities. The second day continues with a visit to the valley’s most iconic viewpoint, Cruz del Cóndor.

Itinerary
DAY 01
Initiation
Hotel pickup at 7:30 am as we head toward the Colca Valley, crossing the Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve.
Pampa Cañahuas
Our first stop is Pampa Cañahuas, where vast plains surrounded by snow-capped peaks provide a natural habitat for vicuñas.
Patahuasi
We continue to Patahuasi, where we enjoy a traditional Andean herbal tea, ideal for acclimatization, with panoramic views of Misti Volcano and Chachani Volcano.
Bofedales de Tocra
Next, we visit the Bofedales de Tocra, a wetland ecosystem fed by natural springs, perfect for observing Andean camelids and birds such as flamingos and wild ducks.
Patapampa
We then reach the highest point of the route at Mirador de los Volcanes (Patapampa) (4,900 m.a.s.l.), known as the “Viewpoint of the Andes,” offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountain range.
Achoma
Descent to the traditional village of Achoma, where a local family welcomes us to their rural home. You will take part in seasonal daily activities such as planting, harvesting, or Andean rituals. Here, you will also have the opportunity to wear traditional Colca clothing and learn the Wititi dance, recognized by UNESCO.
Enjoy a traditional lunch overlooking the agricultural terraces of the valley. Afterwards, we visit the local hot springs, where optional activities such as kayaking or zip-lining may be available.
Dinner and Rest
In the afternoon, transfer and check-in at the selected hotel. In the evening, attend dinner at a folkloric venue with a show of traditional Colca dances.
DAY 02
Breakfast and visit to the Cruz del Cóndor valley
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart toward the most famous viewpoint in the valley: Cruz del Cóndor, a strategic location to admire the depth of Colca Canyon and observe the Andean condor flying in its natural habitat.
Yanque
Along the way, we visit the picturesque village of Yanque, known for its traditional square and colonial architecture. We continue appreciating the impressive pre-Inca agricultural terraces that characterize the valley.
Mirador de Huayra Punko
On the return journey, we stop at Huayra Punko viewpoint for panoramic views of terraces and high-Andean lagoons.
Maca
Next stop is Maca, where you will taste the traditional Colca Sour made from sancayo, a local cactus fruit.
Lunch in Chivay (optional)
Optional lunch at a local restaurant in Chivay, followed by the return trip to Arequipa.
Retorno
Approx. 04:30 pm — Tour ends at the Tourist Drop-off Point.
