Hotel pickup (if located in Cusco’s city center) to begin a journey of approximately 3 hours to the Andean community of Pacchanta, located at 4,320 m.a.s.l., the starting point of this unique experience.
Enjoy a delicious traditional Andean breakfast prepared by local villagers, perfect to start the day with energy.
Begin the hike to the impressive 7 Ausangate Lagoons, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and landscapes that will take your breath away. Over approximately 5 hours (round trip), you will visit the lagoons Otorongo Macho, Otorongo Hembra, Puca Cocha, Alqa Cocha, Ccomer Cocha, Azul Cocha, and Pata Cocha, each displaying unique shades of blue, turquoise, and green.
As you walk along the high-Andean trails, you will admire the peaks of Ausangate, Jampa, Pucapunta, Tinke, and the Qayangate mountain range, while also observing local wildlife such as alpacas, vizcachas, and Andean birds.
Return to Pacchanta for a traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients. Afterward, enjoy a well-deserved rest in the natural hot springs of Pacchanta, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, or explore the small village to learn about its rural lifestyle and customs.
